Who we are
We are a custom design wood and metal workshop based on the Kilifi Plantations on the picturesque Kenyan
coast. As a sister company to Andrew Melesi's, Sala Terrena Ltd, we design, create and fit all the
beds, bars, dining tables and chairs, grills and gates and any other metal work.
We also take orders for all kinds of custom designed furniture.
Our ability to rise to a design challenge is what sets us apart from others in our industry.
A Master joiner by trade, Andrew had always dreamed of having his own wood working shop. While the business of designing and building houses and camps grew, relying on orders from other wood work shops, was frustrating. The time was right. He could realise his dream and take it on himself.
Building the workshop became a reality and Plantation Furniture was born.
The name, grew out of a desire to use salvaged or planted wood, while also being located on a large sisal plantation.
Now with a team of 37 brilliant and passionate woodworkers, led by our foreman Daniel, and managed by Christine Nyarangi, our talented craftsmen, trained under Andrews' guidance, work to realize the visions presented to them and
create the pieces that are in all our houses today.
Quality control and attention to detail is of the utmost importance to Plantation Furniture. All our products are designed to be beautiful, functional, unique and long lasting.
